Obituary

Bobby Ray Dismuke, 76, of Franklin, passed away, Thursday, February 16, 2012.

Born in Miami, FL, he was the son of the late Jimmy Dismuke and Evelyn Luna Dismuke. Bob served with the US Army Reserve. He was a construction project manager, building many hospitals and hotels in southern Florida. He enjoyed gardening, fishing in the waters of the Florida Keys, horseback riding in Jackson Hole, WY and skiing and snowmobiling in Colorado. He was known by many names, including "Cowboy Bob" and "Farmer Brown Bob". He was affectionately nicknamed "Buzzard" and "Bonehead" by his daughters and "Pop Pop" by his grandchildren. Bob was a member of First United Methodist Church, where he was a greeter and usher. Many children will remember his warm smile and high-five. He was a friend to many and will be missed by all.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Arden Dismuke; two children, Cindy Hirni and husband Bill of Denver, CO and Diana Newlyn and husband Marc of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; a sister, Elizabeth Williams of St. Louise, MO; three grandchildren, Christian Robert Hirni and wife Lindsey, Mikael Ryan Hirni and wife Kristin and Blake Myles Bramblett and three great grandchildren, Adrianna, Addison and Lula Nell Hirni.

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 20th at First United Methodist Church. Dr. John Fowler, Rev. Wayne Allen and Rev. Margaret Freeman will officiate.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorial donations can be made to Angel Hospice General Fund, 170 Church St. Franklin, NC 28734 or First United Methodist Church music program or missions program.

Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
