Bitty Jo McCoy Nichols, 80, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2011.
Bitty Jo was the daughter of the late Verlin McCoy and Fern Martin McCoy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Jack" Nichols; sister, Tava Arvey and brother, Rozell McCoy. A native and lifelong resident of Macon County, Bitty Jo enjoyed spending time playing cards with family and friends. She loved animals and was the proud owner of seveal pets throughout her life. Bitty Jo owned the first Merele Norman Studio in Franklin and worked at Nantahala Lumber Company, Macon County Inspections Department and Hilton Office Supply. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
She is survived by son, Charles "Sonny" Nichols; brother, Tommy McCoy and wife Eoline McCoy of Franklin; sister, Ann Bowen of Marietta, GA. She is also survived by special friends, Winston and Baby Cat.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 3, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Dr. Robert Brown will officiate. Burial will be in the Union United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, December 2, at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Josh McCoy, James McCoy, Randy McCoy, Joey McCoy, Mike Nichols and Douglas R. Franklin.
Memorial donations can be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
