Birdie Brendle Reynolds died Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at age 95. She was the daughter of the late George Henry and Perrile Alley Brendle. She was preceded in death by husband, David Carrol Reynolds and her two brothers, Carl Brendle and Robert Brendle. Birdie was the oldest member of Cowee Baptist Church, where she had been active in Sunday school and WMU. In earlier years she was also active in Macon County Extension Homemakers and was named Homemaker of the Year in 1976.
She is survived by a daughter, Alva Lou Buchanan of Sylva, and a son, Bennie Reynolds and his wife Frankie of Franklin. She is also survived by three grandsons, Steve Buchanan, Doug Buchanan and Matthew Reynolds, and three great grandchildren, Cheryl Buchanan, Dan Buchanan and Tyler Raby.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 30th, at Cowee Baptist Church. Rev. David Powell, pastor or Cowee Baptist Church, Rev. Lloyd Fish and Rev. Duane Kuykendall will conduct the funeral service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Steve Buchanan, Doug Buchanan, Matt Reynolds, Tyler Raby, Kirk Perteet and Charles Parrish.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Cowee Baptist Building Fund, 6301 Bryson City Road, Franklin, NC 28734.
