Billy Rhodes, 80, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2017.

Born in Franklin, NC, he was the son of the late Western and Laverne Rogers Rhodes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Vickie Lee Rhodes and a sister, Connie Hargett. Billy was a US Marine Corps veteran and served during the Korean conflict. He was a general contractor and built roads all throughout western North Carolina. Billy was a member of First Assembly of God and enjoyed the Children's ministry and the Helping Hands ministry.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lillie Mae Calloway Rhodes; two sons, Billy Richard "Rick" Rhodes and wife Shelby Jean and Ted Rhodes and wife Vicki all of Franklin; five grandchildren, Melissa Rhodes, Bill Richard Rhodes, III, Mitchell Rhodes, Abigail Rhodes and Casey Wahl and husband James; three great grandchildren, Blake Billingsley, Gracie Billingsley and Adaline Wahl.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 24th in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Barres will officiate. Burial will be in Buck Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.
