Miss Betty Louise Raby, 79, of the Augusta Road area, Greenville, SC died, Saturday June 2, 2012.
Louise was born October 4, 1932 in the Cowee community, Franklin, NC and lived there until relocating to Greenville SC in 1952. She is the ninth child of the late Albert and Kansas Raby. In addition to her parents, Louise is preceded in death by all of her siblings: Everett, Claude, Lyle, Earl, Furman, Mary, Alma and Ruth; 2 Nephews and 1 great Nephew
Louise enjoyed living in the Greater Greenville area where she attended the Droughns Business College. She worked for many years in the accounting department of Kash and Karry until their closure then made a transition to the offices of the Greenville Associate Reformed Presbyterian (ARP) Center until her retirement in 2007. Louise was a 50 year member of the ESA sorority and volunteered for over 20 years at the Greenville YWCA. She was a very active member of the Greenville ARP church. Louise loved returning to the mountains of home and spending time with her family where she coordinated many reunions, birthdays and anniversary celebrations.
Louise is survived by one sister-in-law, Millie Raby of Franklin, NC, 10 Nieces & Nephews, 17 great Nieces & Nephews, 28 great-great Nieces & Nephews and 1 great-great-great Nephew and many beloved friends
Funeral Service will be held at the Greenville ARP Church Wednesday June 6, 2012 officiated by Rev. Matt Miller under the direction of Woodlawn Funeral Home Greenville SC. Interment will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 7, at the Cowee Baptist Church Cemetery Franklin, NC.
In lieu flowers, memorials may be made to Greenville ARP Church, 741 Cleveland Street, Greenville SC 29605 or a charity of your choice.
