Betty Reed Kinsland, 85, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2011.

Born in Jackson Co., NC, she was the daughter of the late Gordon Reed and Ruth Dietz Reed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Thomas A. Kinsland; a sister, Peggy and brother, Robert. Betty was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by three children, Thomas Kinsland of Gainesville, FL, Betty Kinsland Welch of Franklin and Patricia Kinsland Allen of Franklin; one brother, William Reed of Pensacola, FL; two grandchildren, Dean Allen and Brooke Allen both of Florida and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 4, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Wesley Price will officiate. Burial will be in the Watauga Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Curtis, Robert Allen, Ronnie Mason, Tommy Kinsland, Harold Scott and Bill Reed.
