Bessie McConnell Seay, 77, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2010.
Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late William Arthur McConnell and Minnie Elizabeth Sorrells McConnell. In addition she was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Steve, Paul, Earl, B.L., John Furman, Grace and twin sister, Jessie. Bessie was formerly an active member of Bethel United Methodist Church serving as church secretary, trustee, Sunday school teacher, Sunday school class treasurer and cemetery committee member.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, James Seay; two daughters, Karen Crabtree and husband Steve and Margaret McConnell and husband Mark all of Franklin; one sister, Mildred Hoglen of Franklin; five grandsons, Stephan Crabtree, Timothy Crabtree, Samuel Crabtree, Matthew McConnell and wife Lindsay and Christopher McConnell; one great granddaughter, Sydney Grace McConnell.
Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 15, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Keith Newell will officiate. Burial will be in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, November 14, at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Stephan Crabtree, Timothy Crabtree, Samuel Crabtree, Matthew McConnell, Christopher McConnell and Billy McConnell.
