Bertha Jane Higdon Bryson, 99, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2014.

Born in Higdonville, NC, she was the daughter of the late Leonard A. Higdon and Lula Corbin Higdon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Samuel Bryson; son, Samuel Morris Bryson; sister, Pauline H. Harbin and brother, Corbin Robie Higdon. Bertha worked as a teacher's aide and secretary for the Macon County school system. She was a member of Sugarfork Baptist Church.

She is survived by daughter, Carolyn Farris of Albuquerque, NM; two grandchildren, Samuel Jeffery Bryson and Beckett Royce Farris; four great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 21st in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Reeves will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the funeral home.
