Obituary
Bennie "Ben" M. Spurlock, Jr., 74, of Franklin, passed away Friday, August 9, 2019.
Born in San Luis Obispo, CA, he was the son of the late Bennie M. Spurlock, Sr. and Imogene Norris Spurlock. Bennie was a US Navy veteran; retired electronic engineer; avid HAM radio operator; and member of Masonic Lodge #76, Charleston, SC. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and cooking.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Frances Walker Spurlock; four children, Clinton Spurlock (Stacey) of Middletown, RI, Karen Smith of Bostwick, FL, Wanda Smith of Jacksonville, FL and Jenifer Walter of Mooresville, NC; eleven grandchildren, Elysha Gee (Dave), Tayler Spurlock (Jackie), Alec Spurlock, Maryann Smith, Kellie Smith, AJ Smith (Allison), Caleb Clifton, Andrew Smith, Sherri Smith, Jenna Walter and Katelyn Walter; fourteen great grandchildren and two nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 pm Saturday, September 14, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Reeves will officiate.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.
