Obituary
Barbara Kinney Read, 92, of Franklin, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2008.
Born in Waterville, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Percy W. Kinney and Mildred Hescock Kinney. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald B. Read who died in 1999. She loved to play golf and was an avid bridge player.
She is survived by a daughter, Janet Read Swift and husband Robert of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; one grandson, Donald Read White and wife Dawn of Asheville; granddaughter, Laurie Lynn King and husband Brian of Port St. Lucie, FL; great grandchildren, Sydney, Shaunna and Hunter Revis and Sara, Conner and Karley King; and special friend, Michele R. Alderson of Franklin.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 5, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Vic Greene will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hospice House Foundation, PO Box 815, Franklin, NC 28744.
Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
