Obituary
Barbara Ann Tallent Ramey, 55, of Franklin, passed away Monday, July 30, 2018.
Born in Macon County, NC, she was preceded in death by her birth parents, Raleigh Hopkins and Maude Bingham Hopkins; son, Jason Nathaniel Blaine; daughter, Kristel Holloway; brother, John Hopkins and a sister, Ethel Lloyd. Barbara attended Calvary Baptist Church. She was a CNA and enjoyed canning and gardening.
She is survived by her husband, Lex Ramey, Jr.; parents, Robert Eugene Tallent and Mary Bingham Tallent of Franklin; son, Jonathan Keener (Amanda Davis) of Franklin; two sisters, Regina Tallent Starnes (Jeff) of Franklin and Emma Woods of Iva, SC; seven grandchildren; several half siblings and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 2, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Forman Bradley and Rev. Michael McConnell will officiate. Burial will be in the Hodgins Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 1, at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Ramey, Ronnie Carter, Jr., Bruce Ramey, Devin Starnes, Zach Ramey, Sam Ramey, and Austin Ramey. Honorary Pallbearers will be Aaron Craine and Christopher Craine.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Cancer Care of WNC, 609 Asheville Hwy., Sylva, NC 28779.
