Barbara Elizabeth Ledford McConnell, 90, of Franklin, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2020.

A native of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Marion Raleigh Ledford and Franchie Mary Sanders Ledford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lawrence McConnell; one son, Donnie Pressley; three brothers, Ellis Ledford, Calvin Ledford and Wilson Ledford as well as two sisters, Marie Ramey and Thelma Waldroop. Barbara was a sewing machine operator with Van Rault and Franklin Undergarment. Barbara loved working and gardening.

Barbara is survived by four children, LeRoy McConnell (Dale), Gary Lewis (Brenda), JoAnn Bleckley (Alan) and Shirley Sue Speed (Eddie) all of Franklin; eleven grandchildren; one brother, Al Ledford; two sisters, Yvonne Angel and Josephine "Tootsie" Dehart; twenty great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 20, 2 pm in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Reeves, Rev. Don Moffitt and Rev. Michael Zoellner will officiate. Burial will be in the Prentiss Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Timothy Bleckley, Steve Speed, Kevin McConnell, Austin Shirley, Joseph Zoellner and Cayden Burns. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joshua Zoellner, Dawson Green, Caleb O'Conner, Cameron O'Conner and Jaylan Burns.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, c/o Teresa Zoellner, 20 Bear Wood Trail, Franklin, NC 28734.
