Arthur A. Havenhill, 77, of Franklin, North Carolina passed away on March 12,2021 at home with his family.
Born in Chicago, IL, Arthur was preceded in death by this parents, Arthur E. and Shirley Havenhill and his aunt Almyra "Dolly" Havenhill.
Surviving Mr. Havenhill are his wife of 50 years, Ruth Havenhill and son Edward (Elizabeth) Havenhill, of Minooka Illinois. His brother and sister in-law Herman (Sally) DeLawter of Franklin, NC. Niece and nephew Christine (Randy) Smith and Daniel DeLawter. Great nephew James Barclay. Cousins Philip (Gerda) Shank and Ken (Louise) Miller.
Arthur worked many years as in the auto industry and was very active in the Tea party. Arthur's love of cars began at a young age. He enjoyed working on cars and was also a pit crew member at Byron Dragway. As a tea party organizer, Arthur affected change in LaSalle county IL, held many rallies, and even spoke in Washington D.C. at the White House. Arthur and his wife Ruth moved to Franklin two years ago from Seneca, Illinois and loved spending time getting to know the community. Most knew Art by his sense of humor, dad jokes were a part of his daily encounters with people of all walks of life. Most times, the wait staff at various restaurants took the brunt of those jokes but he enjoyed putting a smile on their faces. His optimism and humor will be missed by all who knew him.
