Arnold Arkelius Kirkland, 70, of Franklin, passed away on December 25, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Swain Co., he was the son of the late Harley Kirkland and Ida McClure Kirkland. Arnold retired from construction and spent his retirement working on antique cars, gardening and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Arnold was preceded in death by three sisters, Marylee Kirkland Crisp, Fannie Kirkland Shuler and Lillian Kirkland and one brother, Charles Wade Kirkland.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Diana Burnette Kirkland; daughter, Jennifer Kelley and husband Troy and one grandson, Jackson Arnold Kelley all of Franklin. He is also survived by sister, Ivy Kirkland Ogle and brothers, Dewey Kirkland and Kenneth Kirkland.

No Services will be held.
