Arbutus Elizabeth Shuler, 85, of Franklin, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2013.
Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Norman G. Clampitt and Pearl Cochran Clampitt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Clampitt, Eugene Clampitt and two sisters, Gertrude Ledford and Vergie Baldwin. She was a member of Iotla Baptist Church; member of the Berean Bible Class and was a great cook and gardener.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Marselle Shuler; son, Jim Shuler and Ginny Hess of Franklin; granddaughter, Amanda Peterson and husband Gabe of Whittier; sister, Hazel Gwaltney of Johnson City, TN; two step grandchildren, James and Eric Shuler; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, May 13, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Reeves and Dr. Simeon Martin will officiate. Burial will be in the Iotla Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Weaver Shuler, Donnie Holden, Charles Swafford, Jamie Shuler, Bucky Asby, Bob Hess, Jerry Sanders and Gabe Peterson.
Memorial donations can be made to the Angel Hospice, Iotla Baptist Church Cemetery or Gideons International.
