Obituary

Amy Roper Darnell, 50, of Franklin, passed away Friday, February 10, 2012.

Born in Pontiac, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late John Harvey Roper and Mona Lee Edwards Roper. Amy had a light about her that would brighten the darkest room. As a mother, she gave to her children and grandchildren, infinitely, while only wanting their love in return. Her voice brought cheer to the hearts of friends, co-workers, and loved ones, and the sound of her joyful laugh could undoubtedly brighten the world around her. She could entertain and delight any soul who stood before her, and her passion for music and her ability to harmonize with anyone remained profound throughout her life. Our hearts ache with sorrow due to her absence, although we choose to remember how wonderful she could make us feel, and what a great friend, mother, and person that she chose to be.

She is survived by her husband, Jeff Darnell; two children, Nathaniel Darnell and wife Corinna and Afton Roberts and husband Patrick all of Whittier; sister, Martha Yonce and husband Charles of Franklin; four grandchildren, Obidiah Ganger Darnell, Sophia Wednesday Darnell, Aleixa Emerald Roberts and Heidi Caroline Roberts; nephews, Cade and Cal Yonce and many friends and loved ones.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 18, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home.

Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
