America Potts Hedden, 98, of Franklin, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 23,2021.

America was born in Macon County; she was the daughter of the late Albert B. Potts and Fannie Irene Russell Potts Buchanan. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Hedden, and siblings, Gladys Paige, Jean Chapman, Edna Rich, John Potts, James Potts, and Alice Potts. America enjoyed working hard in her garden, cooking, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by five children, Gloria Jean Katsch (Jim) of Leicester, NC, Carol Ann Hall of Belmont, NC, Bruce Hedden (Sandy) of Franklin, NC, Thomas Gary Hedden ( Phyllis) of Franklin, NC and Joan Beasley of Jesup, GA. There are 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also surviving.

A graveside service will be at 1:00pm on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Burningtown Baptist Church cemetery. The Rev. Charles Stevens will officiate.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Burningtown Baptist Church.
