Alvin Crowe, Jr., 78, of Franklin, passed away Friday, January 31, 2014.
Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Alvin Calvin Crowe, Sr. and Pearl Reed Crowe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Morris Crowe and a sister, Doris Crowe Picklesimer. Alvin was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church; he was a retired painter and he loved Nascar, going to the beach and camping.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Joyce Queen Crowe; six children, Robert Alvin Crowe of Arlington, TX, Ronnie Alan Crowe of Franklin, Kenneth Marvin Crowe of Highlands, Cheryl Crowe Jenkins of Franklin, Brian David Crowe of Atlanta, GA and Kayla Crowe McClain of Otto; three brothers, Joe Crowe of Nassau, VA, Wayne Crowe and Merlin Crowe both of Highlands; two aunts, Pauline Partain and Ruby Prince both of Atkins, SC; thirteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Rev. Eddie Stillwell, Rev. Bill Faulkner and Rev. Frank Rodriguez will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Robert Crowe, Kenneth Crowe, Brian Crowe, Eddie Miller, Tony Elkins, Jason Woodard, Michael Bradley, Josh McClain, and Kale Stincell.
Memorial donations can be made to the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, "Senior Fund".
