Obituary
Alfred Alexander Armstrong, 66, of Franklin, NC, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2016.
Born in Gaston County, he was the son of the late George Herman Armstrong, Sr. and Sue Elizabeth Strange Armstrong. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Brenda Brown and Donna Armstrong; two brothers, Robert Armstrong and George "Bug" Armstrong. He attended Oak Grove Baptist Church; enjoyed collecting antique jars, hunting, fishing and working on cars.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Peggy Ann Stiwinter Armstrong; one daughter, Stephaine A. Armstrong, of Franklin; four grandchildren, Robert Armstrong, Hannah Williams, John "Mouse" Hensley Jr. and Sara Hensley.
Memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, January 24 at Oak Grove Baptist Church. Rev. Jim Dusek will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to DaVita Peritoneal Dialysis, 80 Westgate Plaza, Franklin, NC 28734.
