Obituary
Alexander "Al" Franklin Grant, 74, of Franklin, passed away Monday, May 7, 2018.
Born in Swain County, he was the son of the late Thad and Knight Franklin Grant. Al was a U.S. Air Force veteran and Real Estate developer. He was a member of West Franklin Church and the Franklin Lions Club. His hobbies include boating, golfing, skiing, traveling and working out.
He is survived by two daughters, Suzanne Grant (Jody Tallent) of Carolina Beach, NC and Tammy Nelson (Jeff) of Franklin; six grandchildren, Kayleb, Cody, Blake, Tristan, Nicholia and Gabrial and four great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at Macon Funeral Home. Rev. David Lee Williams and Rev. Ketron Moss will officiate. Military honors will be conducted by the VFW Post 7339 and the American Legion Post 108.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.
