Obituary
Alan Wood, 68, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2015.
Born in Newcastle, England, he was the son of the late Ronald Wood and Joyce Powell Wood. Alan retired from the Royal Air Force. He was a recipient of the Silver Jubilee medal from the Queen of England. He served in Singapore, Northern Ireland, Berlin, The Falkland Islands and Cypress.
He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Linda York-Wood of Franklin; step-children, Martha Fyfe and husband Scott of Clarksville, MD, Suzy Hutchinson of Otto, NC and Robert Stoup of St. Louis, MO; brother, David Wood of England; twin brother, Brian Wood and wife Margaret of New Castle, England; sister, Michelle Ashford and husband Mike of Northumberland and four step grandchildren, Daniel and Jackson, Grace and Garrett. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in England.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to John Hopkins Pancreatic Research in Baltimore, MD.
