Alan John Kramer, 85, of Franklin, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2012.

Born in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of the late Albert C. Kramer and Irma Nesselbeck Kramer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Elizabeth Harris Kramer who died March 13, 2008 and son, Guy Kramer. Alan was a US Army Air Corps veteran and served during WWII. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Miami, FL and the American Legion. He was an avid reader.

He is survived by three children, Lyn Hussey of Franklin, Deborah Ryde of Lake Alfred, FL and Gary Kramer of Ocklawaha, FL; brother, Gene Kramer of Buffalo, NY; five grandchildren, Jennifer Pendergrass, Robert Karber, Wendy Slaughter, James Karber and Kimberly Sanders and sixteen great grandchildren.

Services will be held in Black Mountain VA Cemetery.
