Obituary

A.F. "Jack" Biggs, 79, of Weaverville, NC, entered into rest on Saturday, July 8, 2006.

A native of Coles County, Illinois, he was the son of the late Arthur Biggs and Elsie Walters Biggs. He was preceded in death by his first wife Betty Lou Sollars Biggs who died in 1989 and his second wife, Norma Holland Biggs. In addition he was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell and Harley and three sisters, Eva, Flossie and Katherine. Jack was a U.S. Navy veteran and was of the Methodist faith. He retired from Leland Mast Directory Company where he worked in sales.

He is survived by three children, Dan Biggs and wife Jina of Weaverville, NC, Jackie Rogers and husband Van of Franklin and Jenny Alexander and husband, Jeff of Franklin; three step children, Linda Holland of Asheville, Judy Buchanan of Candler and Kathy Smathers and husband David of Candler; one brother, Ben Biggs of Peachtree City, GA; two sisters, Geneva Chew of Sidell, Illinois and Ester Wright of Denver, Colorado; six grandchildren, Courtney Biggs, Callie Rogers, Katie Rogers, Alex Biggs, Carly Alexander and Brittany Rogers; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, at Woodlawn Cemetery. Rev. Alton Dendy will officiate.
